Mr. Nick Muthiah is a highly trained retinal specialist with extensive experience in the field of ophthalmology. His background includes:
- Ophthalmology residency in London at tertiary centres including Moorfields Eye Hospital.
- Nick undertook Medical retina & Uveitis fellowships at Moorfields Eye Hospital followed by Vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at Bristol Eye Hospital.
- Doctoral research funded by the Medical Research Council UK and California Institute of Regenerative Medicine USA
- Awarded a PhD in Advanced Retinal Imaging Studies from University College London Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London
- Set up the first study of retinal diseases using patients’ own skin cells in the UK with colleagues from UCL
- Advanced translational research as a Royal College of Ophthalmologists Keeler Scholar at The Eye Institute, Medical College of Wisconsin under Professors Joe Carroll, and Judy Kim
- Key Opinion Leader (KOL) in retinal imaging and retinal therapies
- Training of fellows from around the world and specialist registrars in London
- Consultant at Barts Health NHS Trust, Honorary Lecturer at UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, and Consults at Bristol Eye Hospital.
